Game of Thrones from HBO has been a massive success all over the world. It actually holds the title of being the most bootlegged TV series ever with lots of illegal downloading going on across the internet.
GOT has been great for Northern Ireland as well as much of the series is filmed around the province. In fact, we are an official Game Of Thrones Territory. Last year Ireland.com launched the Doors of Thrones, which brought a lot of new tourism to Northern Ireland, and this year they are launching the Game of Thrones Tapestry which will be exhibited at the Ulster Museum, Belfast.
At the moment the tapestry depicts scenes from seasons 1-6, but as season 7 airs across the world, new scenes will be sewn into the tapestry every week or so.
If you can’t get to the Ulster Museum to see the actual GOT tapestry, you can see the full version up close and personal online.
If you want to see more of the areas that GOT was filmed around, you could go on one of the many Game Of Throne tours that are listed around the country. Some of the tours leave from Belfast and run on a daily basis.
